Ian Williamson

Area of expertise: ear infection with fluid

Dr. Williamson is a general practitioner and senior lecturer in primary care at the University of Southampton in Southampton, England. He is especially interested in conditions that affect the ear, nose and throat, and infections that cause breathing problems. He runs many research projects on these conditions.

Dr. Williamson also does some work for the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE), the body that advises doctors about which treatments should be available on the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom. He also works with the Cochrane library, which collects and analyses research to help doctors put research into practice.
